Let's start my hero's story somewhere at the beginning when things were just a little simpler.

Here's me and my mom, when nothing more important in the world than being held in her arms. And major milestones were simple like walking to school for the first day of kindergarten. Those early days set the foundation for my creative journey.

While others kids my age were glued to TVs or Nintendo, I daydreamed of owning and curating a multi-level store on 5th Avenue, such as the Versace store I once walked by. In my imagination, each level had a purpose, from couture clothing to high-end makeup.

When I wasn't dreaming of real estate, I was flipping through wedding and fashion magazines, not for a fairy tale wedding for myself, but envisioning putting on lavish events for others. Before there was Pinterest, I collaged with good ol' magazine clippings of my would-be events, and I even ordered samples from vendor ads to add to my growing scrapbook collages. Beyond sketching and blueprinting, I wrote poetry and short stories. I was always lost to daydreaming worlds of beauty and decadence, a world of pretty things, that made others feel special.

I SHARE AND START WITH THIS BECAUSE… what was true then is true now. I love to create and reimagine stories and turn ordinary moments (or things) into extraordinary ones.

Back then, I knew I had a creative calling, but my childhood creations were far from career-worthy. But there was something there: a bit of unpolished talent and a vision for something more. Eventually, however, I became rational and stopped dreaming about the BIG beautiful things I hope to do someday.

HOWEVER, in every epic tale, there's always an opportunity to turn a challenge into a victory.

Despite my self-doubt, I leaned into an opportunity, being scouted for modeling, and went on to walk the runways. I gained life-changing experiences that were utterly unimaginable to me at the time. And, as life is life, the hero's journey never tires: get knocked down, get back up again, grow farther, deepen wisdom, rise, and stand up tall again and again. 

As it happens, the fashion and beauty industries became industries I loved to work in and would be tied to for years to come. Weaved into the modeling years, I explored various career paths—like Goldie Locks, I searched for the perfect career fit, from modeling to loan officer to hospitality to cosmetology career development. I gained valuable skills and lessons from various professional experiences, before landing in the digital space as a digital designer. Each role lends itself to valuable lessons relevant to my work today when working with clients and their brand strategy.

Through my creative consultancy, ndny studio, I curate project-based experiences to enhance a client's brand and digital presence. Drawing on years of growth and professional education, integrated with online business development, brand marketing, and digital design to deliver lasting and relevant results to the businesses I serve. As for my passions, I use creative spark as a beacon for guiding the way. ..

If I listen closely enough, I can hear the call. What comes next is the action I take, and only then am I limited by the narratives of my mind.

I use this mindset to spark the next creative project and love inspiring others to do the same.

Comedic Content Creator: Objet N'Dara

I've reinvented my love for the fashion and beauty industry on social media, as I have gotten out from behind my computer and challenged my fears of public sharing; which began during the pandemic. Comedy has since transformed my fears; and since those classes I have fallen head-over-heels with making people laugh— with relatable parenting humor and other fashionable shenanigans.

While I have done considerable on-camera work in commercial print and video within the fashion and beauty industries, I'm new to content creation. As I continue to strengthen my voice and build a community, I hope to inspire others along the way to be themselves. Be the people they once were before they became... (fill in limiting belief here) and stopped being that authentic person because they were told they shouldn't be, or wasn't good enough.

Coloring/Activity Books: Objet D'art by ND

I recently launched a stationary brand called "Objet D'art by ND." This is inspired by mine and my family's love of the arts, books, and crafting. I love to create as inspiration finds me. "Objet d'art by ND" is this space for me to explore artsy curiosities, and all the playful possibilities.
